Alumni & Friends Update

Dr. Sidney Barnes O'Gorman ('83), who established "The Gift of Mirth" scholarship dedicated in memory of Dr. Dave Auten ('83), is our newest scholarship donor. If you will like to contribute to this scholarship you may do so by contacting Erin Dancer, Director of Development.

Congratulations to Dr. Jean-Marc Slak ('84) who was presented with "The Chiropractor of the Year Award" at the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society's Fall Convention this past weekend. It was an honor well-deserved!

Dr. Scott Paton ('00) will address a gathering of world-class professionals discussing ethics in sports this Friday at The Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) headquarters in Zurich. Dr, Paton will speak alongside leading figures from a variety of disciplines such as politics, business, academia and NGO's.

Dr. Josh Wagner ('10) was recently published by Chiropractic Economics. His article, "Taking Yes for an Answer," details effective strategies for overcoming patient objections. You can read the full article here.

LIFE "ICE BUCKET" Challenge

Because of the phenomenal success of the ALS Foundation's Ice Bucket Challenge, the children of some of our alumni have asked, "if not to ALS, what can we give to?" While it should be noted that the ALS Foundation provides humanitarian support and assistance to ALS patients and their families, any of us want to give to research - but research that measures and facilitates health, rather than measuring and fighting symptoms and disease. If that is your interest, an option for you is to give to LIFE's research program. At any one time, LIFE faculty and students are working on numerous research projects. The largest initiative is a practice-based research program where patient data is analyzed to measure outcomes of chiropractic care. For a description of some of the life and health affirming research currently underway, please click here.

Women's Rugby Turns Up the Heat

More important than the final score of Saturday's match against Middle Tennessee State University, was the performance and game plan execution by the Life U Women's Rugby team. The Running Eagles played hard until the final whistle and scored a try at the death to make the final margin 71-7. The women have a series of abbreviated matches on Saturday at Emory University against University of Georgia, Georgia Tech and the host team Emory.
