Real World: DCs Recap: Dr. Deborah Pogrelis (’78) Aspiring chiropractors gathered Thursday at Towne Lake Family Chiropractic to mingle with Life University’s Board of Trustee Chairman, Dr. Deborah Pogrelis (’78).
The intimate one-on-one setting allowed students to ask a multitude of questions and receive valuable “real world” advice.
Upon showing the students the ins-and-outs of her practice, Pogrelis demonstrated a mock new patient procedure. Each student acquired a new patient folder and witnessed a mock consultation and report of findings. In addition, Pogrelis’ daughter, Zoe, extended knowledge and support in the aspect of insurance and general office management practices.
Overall, the students were eager to gain new knowledge and take advantage of the opportunity to interact with our LIFE alumna. Our next host will be Dr. Pamela Stone (’00) of Stone Family Chiropractic on Thursday, April 4 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Dr. Sid Williams Assembly and Dedication The Dr. Sid Williams' Assembly and Dedication held on campus Friday, March 8 was an event to remember. Like Dr. Riekeman and many of the other speakers noted, it was evident that Dr. Sid was present in spirit. The amazing performances by the Atlanta Drumline and the Epeheseda Youth Choir (EYC), the commemorative speeches from some of Dr. Sid's greatest friends and colleagues, and the lighting of the Eternal Flame behind the Bell Tower were all things that will be forever entrenched in the memories of the LIFE community. It was a fantastic time to celebrate the man who enriched so many of our lives and defended the principles of the profession we hold so dear.
Thanks to everyone for their attendance at this event, and may each of you strive to carry out the Lasting Purpose that Dr. Sid left us with--To Give, To Do, To Love, To Serve Out of a Sense of Abundance.

LIFE Wins Final TranSouth Conference Championship, 70-68
Life University's outstanding performance clenched the Running Eagles the final TranSouth Athletic Conference title in a 70-68 win over Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.). From tip-off to the final buzzer, it was a non-stop battle for the win.
The win earned LIFE an automatic bid to their fifth consecutive appearance at the Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's National Championship in Kansas City, Mo.
The Lions were down by one point with :15 on the clock when a foul called on Mark Brown put Latraius Mosley at the line shooting double-bonus, where he made one of his two shots. With :04 left, the Lions missed their final three-point attempt to give LIFE the win and the conference title.
The 76th Annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA National Championship is held at Municipal Auditorium March 13-19. The Running Eagles anxiously await the announcement of their first-round opponent.

Running Eagles Volunteer at Elementary School in Kansas City As part of the Life University's Champions of Character initiative, the Running Eagles basketball team spent their first full day in Kansas City volunteering at Overland Trail Elementary School on Tuesday.
The athletes played games with students and took turns sharing information about Champions of Character topics like teamwork, integrity and sportsmanship. LIFE’s men’s basketball team was in Kansas City to compete in the NAIA National Basketball Tournament.
Volunteering is a huge part of student-athlete life at Life University. Our teams participate in volunteer efforts several times each quarter with organizations like Kiwanis Club, Keep Marietta Beautiful, the Cobb County Center for Family Resources, and more. Each year the Running Eagles continue their volunteering while in Kansas City for the National Tournament. In the past, our team has also worked with YMCA after-school programs and other local elementary schools.
