Realizing the Vision Campaign
The Campaign for Life University

PHASE I, Creating a Livable Campus, 2005-Completed December 2010

We’ve closed the books on the initial phase of LIFE’s 20/20 Vision. An $80 million effort, Creating a Livable Campus included numerous projects that transformed the landscape of Life and introduced a positive change of culture from institution to community.

Comparing 2006 to today, our progress is undeniable: substantial renovation of academic buildings; Gold LEED certification of our new student housing facility, which also serves as a national model for sustainable campus living; newly recognized Gold LEED certified café, an eco-responsible dining facility that offers healthy food choices and doubles as a hot spot for student interaction; state-of-the-art nutrition and dietetic kitchens and labs that reflect our highly competitive programs; a vitalistic-based child care center and a parking garage allowing for the removal of several surface lots and the creation of a Lyceum Park, a “central green” that serves as the new hub on campus.

That’s almost $60 million of capital improvements—a significant challenge for any university the size of LIFE!
